While in the San Francisco Bay Area, I went to Oakland and toured a Profitable Urban Community Garden.
Bottoms Up Community Garden Facebook Page:
See HOW I Got To California HERE:
The garden was made using an old city lot which was previously a drug den. They're building these gardens using repurposed, and upcycled materials and spending virtually NOTHING to set them up. The financial assistance they get is through writing grants, and corporate donations.
Questions I Got Answered:
Where do they get their organic materials?
Who runs the garden?
What do they do with the produce?
What is the greatest thing they've learned?
What does the community think of the garden?
What will happen with their gardens in the future?
